The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has carried out a new delivery of Su-35S multirole fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS), marking the sixth batch handed over in 2025.

The information was released on UAC’s official Telegram channel, which shared footage showing the aircraft being transferred to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The exact number of fighters in this shipment was not disclosed, though at least two aircraft can be seen undergoing pre-delivery procedures in the manufacturer’s facilities in the published videos.
According to the state corporation Rostec, the new Su-35S units were produced under the current state defense order valid until 2030 and are part of Russia’s tactical aviation modernization and fleet renewal plan. The aircraft underwent both ground and flight testing before official delivery.

“As part of the tasks set by the Minister of Defense to supply highly demanded weapons and equipment, the crews of the Aerospace Forces accepted the Su-35S fighters. We thank the engineers and technicians for their professionalism and dedication. The Su-35S has proven itself as a reliable aircraft complex capable of performing virtually any mission assigned to operational-tactical aviation,” said a VKS pilot quoted by UAC.
Rostec also emphasized that aircraft manufacturers “have increased the pace of production of modern combat aircraft,” describing the Su-35S as “the most effective fighter in the world today.”

According to the corporation, the model is equipped with advanced targeting systems and long-range weaponry, capable of operating in both air superiority and strike missions against land and naval targets, day or night, under any weather conditions.
“UAC maintains high production levels in support of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This year, we plan to deliver new batches of operational and military transport aircraft,” stated UAC Director General Vadim Badeha.

According to the monitoring website Oryx, Russia has lost at least eight Su-35S fighters since the start of its large-scale invasion of Ukraine. These aircraft are typically used to provide air cover for Su-34 fighter-bombers, armed with medium-range R-77 or long-range R-37M missiles used in missions over Ukrainian territory.
