About the “Russian Knights”

The “Russian Knights” team (in Russian, Русские Витязи) is one of the most renowned aerobatic display units of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS).
Formed in 1991, the squadron is based at Kubinka Air Base, near Moscow, and is distinguished for performing with heavy combat aircraft—something rare in the world of aerobatics.

Originally equipped with Su-27 fighters, the team later transitioned to Su-30SM and Su-35S aircraft, using them in both domestic and international shows to demonstrate the technical performance and maneuverability of Russian fighters. The “Russkiye Vityazi” formations are known for their precision and synchronization in group flights, including complex maneuvers at high speeds and low altitudes.

Over more than three decades of activity, the “Russkiye Vityazi” have become a symbol of Russian aviation, participating in air events around the world and representing the tradition and professionalism of Russia’s military aviation.
