According to the released information, at least one of the helicopters was destroyed after being directly hit by a drone, a fact later confirmed by satellite imagery. The Nebo-U radar, which conducts long-range monitoring, was also reportedly disabled after its antenna was struck.

The Nebo-U is employed within the Russian air defense system to detect aircraft up to 400 kilometers away and at altitudes of up to 20 kilometers, providing data to command centers that integrate layered defense.

Operational context
The attack is part of a series of actions carried out against military and infrastructure assets in Crimea. In recent months, drones and missiles have struck airfields, ammunition depots, communication facilities, and energy systems.
In July, drones operated by Ukrainian intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) had already targeted the Saki airfield, causing damage to six aircraft. Other attacks confirmed by satellite imagery involved helicopters in Hvardiyske and Kirovskoye, as well as targets such as communication centers and artillery depots.
