Polish company Bumech has signed a strategic agreement with South African firm OTT Technologies to localize armored vehicle production in Poland, marking its entry into the competitive European land defense sector.
According to the contract, three models will be produced under license in Poland: Puma M36, LM series, and Bulldog M34.

In the initial phase, vehicles will be assembled from pre-prepared component kits. Later, Poland will move toward full-cycle manufacturing, using European-sourced parts and significantly increasing the localization rate of production.

The expectation is that more than 70% of components will be produced within the European Union, with a focus on upgrading engines and transmissions to comply with current environmental and emissions regulations.
In addition, the locally manufactured armored vehicles will receive advanced features, including anti-drone systems designed to counter modern battlefield threats.

Timeline and goals
Bumech plans to complete the creation of three prototypes by the end of the first quarter of 2026, with the signing of the final licensing contract scheduled for October 2025.
“The use of our resources, infrastructure, and newly acquired know-how allows us to enter the fast-growing defense products market. Cooperation with OTT Technologies opens new opportunities, enabling us to offer proven solutions that will now be produced locally in Poland,” said Bumech Vice President Michal Konchak.
The models
Puma M36 – MRAP-type armored vehicle with mine and IED protection compliant with STANAG 4569 standards. Can carry up to 12 personnel and reach speeds of 100 km/h.
LM series – lighter and more agile armored vehicle, designed for patrols and security missions.
Bulldog M34 – versatile platform that can serve as a troop carrier, weapons carrier, or command module.
The new armored vehicle portfolio, integrating modern solutions for protection, mobility, and firepower, positions Poland as a key player in regional military vehicle production.
