A woman posted a video asking internet users if the dealership is trying to trick her after saying she should buy a new car.

Savannah Dixen explained that she had to take her 2023 Hyundai Palisade to the dealership for minor repairs. She noted that when she bought the car, it had only 41,000 km on it, and now it has 73,000 km.

“I need someone to tell me if the dealership is trying to trick me into buying a new car,” Dixen asked before providing more details about the situation.

She reported that over the past year, she had three different power outages, during which the car turned off. This caused issues with the locks, windows, dashboard, lights, sunroof, and door openings.

“Now I’m nervous. Last time this happened, I was driving and everything failed, and I had to stop,” the woman said.

Every time Dixen took the Palisade to the dealership, they allegedly told her: “We cannot find the code, we cannot help.”

The dealership also reportedly informed her that this problem would continue until there was a code to fix it.

According to her, the solution proposed by the dealership is for her to buy a new car. She said they are trying to convince her to buy a 2025 Hyundai.

“Is there anything I can do? Is the dealership trying to trick me?” Dixen asked viewers in the video, which has already received over 5,000 views.

Despite Dixen’s theory, many agreed that it is probably not the dealership’s fault. “I work for a Hyundai dealership and the warranty requires codes. If there are no codes and they cannot be replicated, unfortunately, the warranty will not cover it,” explained an internet user.

“This is the standard protocol. Next time it happens, document the occurrence, call the dealership, and tow the car so they can be present and diagnose the issue,” he added.

“‘We cannot reproduce the problem’ is the standard response, even when they have seen the problem frequently and know what it is. They will probably need permission to perform the work,” reported a Reddit user who faced a similar issue.
