In the video posted on TikTok, car dealer Yusuf shared part of a call with a woman who was trying to sell her 2022 Maserati Levante.
The woman explained that she bought the car new in 2022 for \$130,000, so she was quite shocked when she found out the car was only worth \$20,000, a depreciation of over \$100,000.
She asked Yusuf for his opinion, who said: “If you buy a new car, it will depreciate and put you in an even worse position. To avoid this, lease a car. The caveat is that your monthly payment will be higher.”
The woman told Yusuf that she still needs to pay \$41,000 on the financing and her current monthly payment for the Maserati is \$1,100, but she is open to increasing it to \$1,500 per month.
