“We managed to intercept 99% of the threats directed at our territory,” stated IDF spokesman, General Daniel Hagari. “This is a significant strategic success, facing about 170 drones launched by Iran, with no incursions on our soil.”

The F-35I fighters, along with F-15is, also conducted preemptive strikes against military bases of the Hezbollah terrorist group located in the Khiam and Kafr Kila regions of Lebanon.

The F-35I version, specially adapted for the Israeli Air Force, includes systems developed by Israel that enhance its capabilities to meet the unique operational requirements of the region. The delivery of F-35I to Israel began in June 2016, as part of military aid to the country. Currently, Israel has a fleet of 36 F-35I fighters.
