The United Kingdom has already sent over 70,000 drones to Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion in 2022, significantly increasing its military support.

Among the supplied equipment are long-range attack drones, FPV (first-person view) models, loitering munitions, surveillance drones, as well as maritime systems. Although specific model details are not disclosed for security reasons, the British government states that the aid covers a wide range of operational capabilities.

This reinforcement is part of a $469 million investment announced by Defence Secretary John Healey, promising to multiply drone deliveries by tenfold later this year. Most equipment is developed by British companies, focusing on technologies resistant to Russian electronic warfare, such as fiber-optic guided drones and interference-proof systems. Additionally, the UK leads, alongside Latvia, a coalition promising to deliver 30,000 FPV drones to Ukraine by August.

British support also includes delivering 140,000 artillery shells, training Ukrainian troops through Operation Interflex, and contributions to NATO’s logistics fund. According to British intelligence, drones have been decisive on the battlefield and have already caused more casualties than traditional artillery.

This reinforcement is part of the UK’s 2025 defense strategy, which foresees over £4 billion in developing autonomous systems aimed both at national security and international support.
