The United Kingdom has signed a contract with Cambridge Aerospace to supply Skyhammer missiles in order to strengthen its air defense in counter-drone operations.

The information was shared by the company itself on its official website. In the statement, Cambridge Aerospace detailed that the British Ministry of Defence will receive the first delivery of missiles as early as next month, with the remaining equipment scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2026.

According to the Ukrainian outlet Militarnyi, the purchase is part of preparations by the United Kingdom’s Armed Forces to enhance air defense capabilities for units deployed in the Persian Gulf in counter-drone operations.

The Skyhammer is being positioned by Cambridge Aerospace as a low-cost air defense solution. The missile has a range of up to 30 km and a maximum speed of 700 km/h, and was designed to be particularly effective for air defense units intercepting low-cost kamikaze drones such as the Iranian Shahed-136 model.
