Ukrainian company General Cherry has unveiled the Sweetheart, a new reconnaissance drone designed to carry out deep missions inside enemy territory, with an estimated range of up to 150 kilometers.

The system was developed with a focus on low cost, ease of operation, and the ability to perform in hostile environments.

According to the manufacturer, the drone was designed to withstand electronic warfare systems, one of the greatest challenges faced by unmanned aircraft in modern conflict scenarios. The model also does not require complex launch infrastructure, as it can be hand-launched, making it more practical for field operations.

Weighing just 4 kg and featuring a 1.7-meter wingspan, the Sweetheart can remain airborne for up to three hours. It is equipped with digital video communication systems, a remotely controlled zoom camera, and a laser rangefinder. Another key feature is its low acoustic signature, making it nearly undetectable at altitudes between 50 and 70 meters.

General Cherry also highlights the project’s cost efficiency, stating that it costs approximately six times less than comparable reconnaissance drones. The model is already undergoing operational testing with Ukrainian forces, and mass production is expected to begin during the second half of this year.
