A single team from the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Regiment managed to neutralize three Shahed-type drones in the same night during low-altitude air defense operations.
The action was carried out using the GREY WIDOW-1i interceptor, a model derived from the GREY WIDOW 1 kamikaze drone.
According to the manufacturer Nebesna Kara, the GREY WIDOW-1i combines versatility and performance, operating between 90 km/h and 260 km/h. This range allows the aircraft to conduct both prolonged patrols and rapid responses against identified aerial threats.
Endurance varies depending on the mission type: it can reach up to 40 minutes in active target search mode, drop to 20 minutes in mixed mode, or be limited to about seven minutes during maximum-speed interceptions. Operational range reaches 30 km, with a service ceiling of up to 6,000 meters and the capacity to carry a 1.1 kg warhead.
The system is still undergoing combat testing with optical guidance and already has an operational track record in previous versions used by Ukrainian special units.
The regiment also recently gained attention when one of its servicemen, known as “Miguel,” shot down 24 Shahed drones in a single night, setting a milestone in air defense operations.
