Originally designed as a kamikaze drone launched by catapults or vehicles, Batyar quickly evolved into a versatile system with multiple functions. In addition to the attack version, the UAV can now also operate as a decoy to confuse enemy air defenses and as a platform for launching munitions.
Equipped with a gasoline engine, Batyar is capable of traveling an impressive 800 km while carrying an 18 kg warhead, making it suitable for striking strategic targets deep inside enemy territory, including military positions in occupied regions such as Crimea.
According to released images, Batyar appears to be equipped with an optical-electronic observation system (OLS), suggesting the ability to identify targets in real time with high precision. This technology is similar to that observed in the Ukrainian kamikaze UAV SETH, which has also been successfully used in recent operations.

Additionally, there is the possibility of integrating “Starlink” satellite communication terminals, which could further expand the drone’s navigation and control autonomy, posing significant challenges to Russian air defense systems in Crimea and other sensitive fronts.
With the Batyar, Ukraine expands its deterrent capability and reinforces the role of UAVs as key players on the modern battlefield, using drones not only as direct weapons but also as tools for electronic warfare, disinformation, and enemy defense saturation.
