Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch of the GLC EV, the fully electric version of the mid-size SUV, which will arrive in two variants between late 2026 and early 2027.

The model has been developed on a new platform exclusively for electric vehicles, larger than the combustion-engine GLC, featuring updated design and innovative technological options, including an illuminated grille with 942 LED points.

The GLC EV will have two powertrain options. The GLC400 4Matic, the first to arrive, will feature two motors and all-wheel drive, delivering 483 hp and 81.9 kgfm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 96 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The GLC300+, expected in early 2027, will have a rear motor with 369 hp and 51.4 kgfm, reaching 96 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Both come with a two-speed transmission and a 94 kWh battery, offering an estimated range of about 560 km.

Inside, the highlight is the 39-inch Hyperscreen, covering almost the entire dashboard and integrating features such as video conferencing via Microsoft Teams, even while driving. Fast charging on an 800-volt architecture allows charging from 10% to 80% in 24 minutes, or about 257 km in just ten minutes of charging.

The GLC EV directly competes with the new BMW iX3, which also emphasizes performance and range to attract premium electric SUV buyers.
