The 2026 Subaru Outback features a completely redesigned look, with a more rugged silhouette and a shift towards an SUV style, moving away from traditional wagon characteristics.

The front now features stacked headlights and a larger grille, while the sides boast a more muscular design with pronounced wheel arches. The model comes with a 2-inch higher roofline, increasing the cargo area, and reinforced roof rails supporting up to 362 kg.

Inside, the Outback offers a 12.1-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a new EyeSight mode for driver assistance and seats designed to reduce fatigue on long trips.

In terms of performance, the 2026 Outback offers two engine options: a 2.5-liter engine with 180 horsepower and a 2.4-liter turbo engine with 260 horsepower in the Wilderness trim, both featuring standard all-wheel drive. The X-Mode system has been revised to allow driving mode adjustments directly from the steering wheel, offering better control on difficult terrain. The Wilderness trim, with a ground clearance of 9.5 inches, also comes with all-terrain tires and a towing capacity of 1,587 kg, making it more suitable for off-road adventures.

The Wilderness trim stands out with its rugged design, including additional underbody protection, a revised bumper, and exclusive copper accents. The model features water-resistant upholstery and ventilated Nappa leather seats as an option. It also offers improved approach, departure, and breakover angles compared to other trims.

The 2026 Subaru Outback will be available in several trims, with the Wilderness trim arriving in early 2026. The price of the new model has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be slightly higher than the previous one.
