Renault has brought back the iconic van Estafette with a new electric concept, showcased at Europe’s largest commercial vehicle fair, the IAA.
First launched in 1959, the original Estafette revolutionized the medium-duty van market, and Renault aims to replicate this success with the electric version, which combines modern design and smart solutions for urban transport. Production of the model is expected to start in two years.
The highlight of the new Estafette is its compact size, ideal for maneuvering in urban areas, and its efficiency in internal space. With dimensions similar to the Renault Kangoo but with greater height, it offers cargo space comparable to larger vans, such as the Renault Trafic.
The smart design, which includes a raised roof and an eye-catching look, aims not only to maximize cargo capacity but also to make the vans more visually appealing.
Additionally, the van features a range of innovative interior elements, such as sliding doors and a swivel seat for easier access to the cargo area, as well as safety systems that protect the cargo during deliveries.
The Estafette uses a new FlexEVan platform, developed in partnership with Volvo and CMA-CGM, and features advanced electronic architecture with permanent cloud connectivity, allowing for continuous updates and adaptation for different types of conversions.
