In an Instagram video, Shelby, mother of 5-year-old Nathan, explained how her son, like many boys his age, is obsessed with motorcycles — and how that interest encouraged him to talk to other people.
“My five-year-old son is autistic and didn’t use to talk to people. He hands out motorcycle stickers he likes, and Harley-Davidson even made custom ones for him to give out and help him socialize,” she wrote in the caption.

In the clip shared by the mother, Nathan, with Shelby’s help, approaches two bikers and gives them some stickers. He practices shaking hands with them and beams with joy when they offer to take a photo with him.
The bikers also ask for his help in placing the stickers on their motorcycles. “Now when I pop a wheelie, everyone’s gonna see it!” says one of them to the boy.
In an interview with Fox6, Shelby explained how this kind of interaction has positively affected how her son relates to others: “If you have a bike, he’ll talk to you. A year ago, he barely spoke to anyone,” she said.
Nathan, who once handed out Harley-Davidson stickers, now has his own motorcycle-themed product called Moto Monsters Awesometism, created to raise autism awareness.
