A McLaren Artura valued at up to $540,000 lost a wheel while driving on one of the main avenues in Florianópolis, southern Brazil.
The incident, recorded on video by another driver, occurred during a period of heavy rain. The vehicle lost its left rear wheel and had to stop in the left lane of the road.
The driver of the supercar attributed the issue to a service failure. According to him, the wheel bolts were loose, causing the part to detach while the vehicle was moving at around 50 km/h (31 mph).
The situation caused traffic disruptions and required the insurance company to tow the vehicle.
The McLaren Artura is equipped with a hybrid engine that combines an electric motor with a 3.0 V6, delivering up to 585 hp. With this setup, the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in just 3 seconds.
