Additionally, a video shared on social media appears to show the moment of the Rubymar’s sinking, although the authenticity of the footage still needs independent confirmation.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the attack on the Rubymar, specifying that the British ship was hit by a missile. CENTCOM also reported that the crew was safely evacuated and transported to the nearest port by a commercial ship that arrived to provide assistance, along with a military ship from the US-led coalition.

The incident did not end with the sinking of the Rubymar. The Houthis also announced they had shot down a US reconnaissance drone, an act that underlines the complexity and danger of the conflict in the Red Sea region.
