The new Honda GT stands out with its modern styling and sporty appeal, but its interior has drawn criticism for featuring too many screens.

Although some screens serve specific functions—such as side displays connected to external cameras and the upper instrument panel—the presence of several other displays, including a controversial passenger screen, has raised concerns about ergonomics and safety. While the model does retain some physical buttons, they aren’t enough to offset the feeling of an overly digitized interior.

The new Honda GT is part of the Ye series, a line of electric vehicles designed exclusively for the Chinese market. The GT is the third model in the series, following the S7 and P7, and features a sportier design with a coupe-like profile. It will be produced through Honda’s joint ventures with Dongfeng and GAC, which are responsible for the blue and red versions, respectively. While they share much of the bodywork, the models differ in details like bumpers and lighting.

The platform used is the “Honda e:N Architecture W,” which supports rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. Single-motor versions deliver 268 hp, while dual-motor variants offer up to 469 hp. The 89.8 kWh battery provides a range of up to 650 km (CLTC), depending on the configuration.

The GT was first revealed as a concept in 2023 and is now close to entering production. It was showcased at Auto Shanghai alongside other models that highlight the brand’s strong push into the Chinese EV market.
