Fiat unveils 4×4 concept of the Grande Panda with rear motor and off-road styling (Fiat)
Fiat has introduced a new version of the Grande Panda featuring off-road looks and four-wheel drive, although it is still just a concept.
The model pays tribute to the original Panda 4×4, launched in 1983, and comes as a response to competitors such as the Renault 4 Savane 4×4. The automaker has not confirmed mass production but admits there is “potential” for it in the near future.

The concept is based on Stellantis’ Smart Car platform, which until now had only been used in front-wheel-drive models. The 4×4 version now includes an electric motor at the rear, although total power output has not yet been revealed. The current Grande Panda is available as a mild-hybrid with a 1.2-liter turbo engine and as a fully electric version, both producing around 110 hp, but the 4×4 is expected to exceed that performance.
Visually, the vehicle features typical off-road elements such as steel wheels, raised suspension, underbody protection, a roof rack with spare tire, as well as details like pixelated headlights and a 4×4 logo.
Fiat discontinued the Panda 4×4 a few years ago, although a commemorative edition was launched in 2023. Now, both the Grande Panda and the Renault 4 have the potential to attract an audience looking for adventure in a small, affordable car.
