Passionate about cars and the Back to the Future trilogy, engineer Anderson Dick, founder of FuelTech, transformed a classic DeLorean into a unique project.
Living in the United States, he replaced the original V6 engine of the sports car with the powerful 4.5 V8 from a crashed Ferrari California, paired with a Porsche 911 manual transmission and fitted with custom parts, including a clutch and a unique exhaust system made in Brazil.
The project involved extensive structural modifications, such as a complete restoration of the chassis and the stainless steel bodywork with handcrafted finishing. The car also received larger wheels, licensed Recaro seats, and a FuelTech injection module that simulates the displays of the famous “flux capacitor” from the movie.
The estimated power exceeds 500 hp, potentially reaching 600 hp after final adjustments on the dynamometer.
According to Dick, the total cost of the transformation reached US$ 150,000, but the market value of the modified car could reach up to US$ 540,000. Despite that, he says he doesn’t intend to sell it. “I use the car daily for rides and events. It’s almost a modern car, with excellent drivability,” he commented.
