BMW is bidding farewell to the third generation of its Z4 convertible with a special edition that combines an intense black paint with a red-detailed interior.

The current generation of the Z4 was launched in 2019, partly the result of an unusual partnership between BMW and Toyota, in which the Austrian manufacturer Magna Steyr built both the Z4 and the rebirth of the Toyota Supra.

Eight years later, BMW is ending production of the Z4, but not before releasing a special edition designed for collectors in the form of the Z4 Final Edition.

The Z4 Final Edition comes in the same configuration as the Z4: six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic. It is fully painted in Frozen Black metallic and features BMW’s iconic Shadowline package, which paints the mirror caps, grille, air intakes, and exhaust in glossy black.

On the exterior, the only color accents are on the red M Sport brake calipers, and inside, the Z4 Final Edition follows the same pattern, with the seats, doors, and center console covered in black leather and Alcantara, with red stitching on the seats and mats adding a pop of color in the cabin.

A door sill badge identifies the car as a Final Edition, adding an extra touch of exclusivity. And exclusive it is: BMW has already confirmed that production of the Z4 Final Edition will be extremely limited.

Production will take place between February and April 2026, so eager collectors should act quickly to secure one before they’re gone. As all Final Edition versions come in the same configuration, they will all carry the same price of $78,675, regardless of the chosen transmission.
