Roshel unveiled at Eurosatory 2026 the new generation of its Captain light armored vehicle, now developed on the Ford Ranger Super Duty platform.
The model was designed to enhance operational versatility and increase payload capacity, positioning itself as an intermediate solution between light armored vehicles and heavier military platforms.
The new Captain offers a payload capacity of 1.5 tons and combines STANAG Level 2 ballistic protection with STANAG Level 1 blast protection. These features allow the vehicle to withstand high-impact threats such as 7.62 mm armor-piercing ammunition and improvised explosive devices, while maintaining mobility and effectiveness across different operational environments.
According to Roshel, the use of the Ford Ranger Super Duty platform provides a stronger structure compared to previous generations, allowing improved performance under load and armor protection. The vehicle was also designed in both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive configurations, as well as single-cab and double-cab versions, expanding its adaptability to global markets and different mission profiles.

The new Captain is intended to meet the growing demand for more affordable protected vehicles that can be maintained using civilian infrastructure and operated without the complexity associated with traditional armored vehicles.
While the double-cab version prioritizes personnel and equipment transport, the single-cab version focuses on increased cargo space, making it more suitable for logistics missions and the integration of operational systems.
