Armenia has confirmed the acquisition of Chinese CH-4 Rainbow attack drones, marking a new stage in the modernization of its military capabilities.

According to the Ukrainian outlet Militarnyi, the system was recently presented by Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, who publicly showcased the equipment during an official demonstration at the parade celebrating Armenia’s Independence Day.

The CH-4, developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), is a medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) drone capable of carrying out both reconnaissance and strike missions.

The aircraft can remain airborne for dozens of hours and carry guided munitions against ground targets, often drawing comparisons to the American MQ-9 Reaper in terms of operational profile.

The CH-4 has already been exported to several countries across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Its proliferation further highlights China’s growing presence in the global military drone market.
