Ford has announced the arrival of seven new vehicles for the European market by 2029, in an attempt to regain market share in the region after years of declining sales and the rise of Chinese automakers.
Among the planned launches are a compact electric hatchback, an urban electric SUV, a new model from the Bronco family aimed at Europe, two crossovers with multiple powertrain options, and a compact SUV that will be produced in Valencia, Spain, from 2028. Ford also confirmed the new electric Transit City and the Ranger Super Duty for the commercial segment.
According to the website Motor1, the new models will feature design inspired by Ford’s rally heritage and are expected to combine hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric versions. The brand also indicated that it intends to make its electrification strategy in Europe more flexible, advocating a less aggressive transition to fully electric vehicles.
An important part of the new strategy involves a partnership with Renault to develop compact electric vehicles in France. Reports from the European press suggest that an indirect successor to the Fiesta could emerge from this project.
The announcement comes as Ford faces a difficult period in the European market. The company has dropped from more than 1 million cars sold per year a decade ago to around 426,000 units in 2025, losing ground to Chinese brands such as BYD and MG.
In addition to the new vehicles, Ford wants to expand the role of Ford Pro as a provider of digital services for companies and commercial fleets. The goal is for software and services to account for 25% of the division’s operating profit.
