Yamaha has once again received international recognition with its conceptual model MOTOROiD2, awarded the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2025. This is the brand’s fifth win in the category, reinforcing its leading role in innovation and design.
Launched in 2023, the concept seeks to explore a new interaction between rider and machine, featuring a futuristic structure, non-verbal communication, and a haptic system called “LEAF” that delivers visual and tactile stimuli to the rider.
The main highlight of the MOTOROiD2 lies in its integration of artificial intelligence with autonomous balancing technology. The motorcycle recognizes the rider, responds to gesture commands, and can even move toward them on its own. Its unique AMCES (Active Mass Center Control System) allows dynamic adjustment of the center of gravity, with components such as the battery and swingarm rotating around a central axis to ensure stability and control—all electronically managed.
Although there are no plans for mass production, Yamaha’s concept paves the way for future innovations in commercial models. Features like facial recognition, gesture control, and advanced structural solutions are expected to influence the brand’s upcoming releases. In the meantime, the futuristic design and visionary concept of the MOTOROiD2 have already earned global prestige in the design world.
