A woman who dreamed of owning a Mercedes-Benz G-Class fulfilled her dream, but it quickly turned into a nightmare.
Taylor DeFazio posted a video on her TikTok profile to share her experience and warn other potential buyers of the iconic vehicle known as the G Wagon.
“So, if any of you have ever thought about buying a G Wagon: do yourself a favor and just don’t buy it,” she began in the clip before explaining what led her to that conclusion.
First, she cited maintenance costs. “This was the most expensive car I’ve ever had. And literally, the worst car I’ve ever had. I was driving one day and [the spare tire] just flew off the car,” Taylor recounted.
She pointed to the lower bracket that wraps around the G Wagon to hold the spare tire in place. It hangs on the hinge after securing the metal piece. “The key just fell off,” she explained.
As the video progresses, Taylor revealed that these problems occurred relatively early after she acquired the car. “I’ve had this car for two years. Two years,” she lamented.
But the costs didn’t stop there. Taylor said that after just 24 months of use, she “already needs new brakes.” “So, moral of the story: I’m getting rid of it. Send me car recommendations.”
In the video comments, which have already received over 1.3 million views, viewers were shocked by what happened. “I had a Mercedes GLE and constant issues… not impressed at all,” lamented one TikTok user.
