A woman was arrested after putting salt in her ex-boyfriend’s car engine following an argument.

Stephanie Carlquist destroyed her ex’s car after a fight they had in early July, according to the Richmond Police Department.

In addition to putting salt in the engine, Stephanie threw glitter into the air conditioning, punctured a tire, broke the windshield, the side mirror, and the car’s radio screen.

The ex-boyfriend told police that she punctured a tire on July 6, but then caused the rest of the damage after an argument on July 15.

After the attack, the car was towed to a Goodyear in Richmond, where it was deemed a “total loss” after the estimated cost of the damages reached $12,464.96.

According to police, Stephanie told the tow truck driver about the damage to the car when they arrived to take it to Goodyear. The driver then called the victim’s mother to report Stephanie’s confession.

After learning about the confession, Stephanie reportedly sent a message to her ex-boyfriend on Instagram, saying she was stressed because of her pregnancy and expressed regret for the damage.

Stephanie was arrested and, while being questioned, allegedly admitted to police the presence of glitter in the air vents and the damage to the windshield.

She is being held at the Madison County Detention Center on a $12,000 bond and is facing a charge of vandalism.
