The 28th Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released an impressive video this week showing the destruction of an improvised Russian armoured vehicle, nicknamed the “monster tank” by Ukrainian fighters.
The vehicle was spotted during the defence of a Ukrainian position against a Russian assault carried out the day before.
The Russian vehicle, described as a “mobile shack”, had a massive reinforced structure, seemingly designed to withstand drone attacks. According to Ukrainian soldiers, destroying the vehicle required the use of approximately 60 FPV (First Person View) drones due to the extreme difficulty of finding vulnerable points in its armour.
Additional footage released by the brigade shows the “monster” after being hit, allowing for a more detailed analysis of the vehicle.

According to the military, in addition to transporting infantry, the vehicle may have housed electronic warfare systems (EW) used to protect advancing units, as well as a mine-clearing system essential for creating paths for lighter vehicles like motorcycles and trucks.

Eliminating this type of armoured vehicle is considered critical by Ukrainian forces due to its tactical support role and its ability to open corridors for future attacks.
“In war, creativity knows no bounds,” commented the soldiers, referring to the unusual appearance and complexity of the improvised Russian vehicle.
