The Volkswagen Taos 2025 received a significant update, featuring a new exterior look, an upgraded interior, and more standard features.
The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine now delivers 174 hp, an increase of 16 hp over the previous model. The entry-level S version with front-wheel drive has a starting price of $26,420, while the top-of-the-line SEL version, available only with all-wheel drive, starts at $36,120.
Improvements to the engine include revised components and a larger intercooler, as well as the replacement of the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with an eight-speed automatic for all-wheel-drive models.
The interior has been revitalized with a light-tone dashboard, a new standard 8-inch touchscreen, and synthetic leather details. The SE and SEL versions receive advanced features such as wireless mirroring and voice control. The Taos’s exterior design now features projector LED headlights and a full-width rear light bar.
Although VW has not yet released fuel economy numbers for the new model, they are expected to be equal to or better than those of the 2024 Taos.
The new Taos will be available for sale later this year, with additional details to be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
