Volkswagen is working to create a new tradition around the all-electric ID.3 GTX. The German brand unveiled the “Fire+Ice” model as a tribute to the 90s Golf Fire and Ice.
At the ID. Meeting event in Locarno, Switzerland, the automaker presented the unique vehicle, named ID.3 GTX Fire+Ice, developed in partnership with fashion brand Bogner and featuring a three-layer paint finish with special glass beads, along with unique design details reminiscent of the classic model.
The highlight of the ID.3 GTX Fire+Ice is its innovative interior, which features seats that look like they have jackets built in. Opening the zipper reveals a different upholstery, inspired by the fabric used in the original Golf Fire and Ice.
Additionally, the car features a “fire and ice” theme with red and blue accents and custom pedals with fire and ice icons. However, Volkswagen does not intend to release a limited production special edition of this model, keeping it as a unique one-off.
