Volkswagen has announced the new 2026 Tiguan SEL R-Line Turbo, which comes as the most powerful and luxurious version of the compact SUV.

Equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, it delivers 268 hp and 35.6 kgfm of torque, a significant increase compared to the standard version. This performance boost was made possible thanks to a larger turbocharger and internal reinforcements in the engine, which now also features technologies such as oil cooling for the pistons and variable valve timing.

The new version comes with all-wheel drive as standard, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and larger brake discs. Despite the enhanced performance, the engine runs on regular gasoline and adopts the Miller cycle, prioritizing fuel efficiency.

Visually, the R-Line Turbo stands out with details like a black roof and mirrors, 20-inch wheels, and illuminated elements at the front and rear.

Inside, the model focuses on luxury, with walnut wood trim, brown quilted leather, and white stitching on the dashboard. Standard features include a 15-inch multimedia screen, a 10.3-inch digital dashboard, a Harman Kardon audio system with 12 speakers, front seats with electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, and massage, as well as customizable ambient lighting and wireless charging.

The Tiguan R-Line Turbo will be launched later this year in the United States, with an estimated price of around $46,000.
