A woman said she took her Cadillac Escalade to a car wash and was shocked to learn that it was completely destroyed during the washing process.
Lucille Ramirez posted a video on her TikTok profile to explain what happened. She said she put everything, including her dogs, inside the vehicle and headed to the car wash where she and her husband have a monthly subscription.
According to her, the car was packed because her house was for sale, so they needed to temporarily leave the property while the real estate agent brought potential buyers for a showing.
However, the worst happened when, in an event she had never seen before, her vehicle ended up being destroyed inside the car wash, as shown by the establishment’s security camera footage she shared.
According to Ramirez, her vehicle entered the wash behind a pickup truck carrying a pump in the bed. The pump came loose, got stuck in the car wash brushes, and began spinning uncontrollably, slamming into her Escalade from front to back.
Ramirez said the interior of the vehicle did not get wet and that the car wash systems shut down as soon as something went wrong. Her dogs, however, were still in the rear of the vehicle. When the rear windshield shattered, the animals ended up with pieces of glass in their paws and suffered some scratches.
She also said she still owed US$67,000 on the Escalade, and the damage exceeded 75% of the vehicle’s value. As a result, the insurance company declared it a total loss. Fortunately, Ramirez said she sold the house to the people who came to view it that same day.
