A woman used her social media to report that someone had placed a GPS on her car while it was parked at a golf course.

Savannah Phillips posted a video on her TikTok profile explaining that she discovered someone had placed an AirTag, Apple’s GPS device, on her car while it was parked at a golf course.

Phillips explained that the discovery of the AirTag was made through her iPhone, which sends security alerts to users about unknown tracking. However, she mentioned that the authorities were unable to locate the GPS device after a search of the vehicle.

The next day, she said she took the car to a mechanic, but was informed that there were too many “corners and crevices” and areas with “exposed metal” for a thorough check.

She criticized the golf course where everything happened, saying that the staff showed little interest and didn’t even know what an AirTag was. “They couldn’t have been less helpful or less interested,” Phillips said.

Now, for safety reasons, she is keeping the car away from home. “For now, my car is not at home,” she explained in another video posted on July 7.

If you find an AirTag in your car, do not ignore it. Both Apple and security experts recommend immediately disabling the device and contacting authorities, especially if you feel unsafe or suspect someone is tracking you.

Carefully search your vehicle (under the seats, in compartments, around the trunk, and any other place the device might be hidden), and if you find the AirTag, press the back and turn it counterclockwise to remove the battery and stop the transmission.
