Paratroopers from the 82nd Air Assault Brigade thwarted an attack by Russian occupiers attempting to breach Ukrainian defenses in the village of Nikolskyi using armored vehicles.

A video released by the brigade’s press office shows the battle, where a Russian assault group consisting of a platoon with three infantry fighting vehicles BMP-3 and a tank T-80 equipped with mine-clearing plows launched an offensive against the village.

The mechanized column managed to approach Nikolskyi but was met with intense fire. Two BMP-3s were disabled near a water tower on the settlement’s outskirts. The T-80 tank and another combat vehicle reached the village, where they were finally stopped.

The footage also shows that part of the Russian infantry managed to disembark and advance toward Ukrainian military positions, although the attack was neutralized. This marked the second recent effort by Russian forces to break the region’s defenses.
