The Ukrainian fighter pilot of the MiG-29, identified by the callsign Sava, performed an impressive “barrel roll” in the sky just after completing a combat mission. The moment was recorded and released by the “West” Air Command of the Ukrainian Air Force.

According to the Air Force, Sava was part of an operation in which a group of aircraft was mobilised to attack enemy equipment and troops. Each aircraft played a specific role, from communication and gathering information about the combat environment, to air cover and the launch of bombs and missiles.

“These are complex and dangerous air operations,” the Air Force emphasised.

After the mission’s success, the pilot executed the acrobatic figure known as the barrel roll — a manoeuvre in which the aircraft rotates 360° on its longitudinal axis while maintaining its flight path.

“A barrel roll in the sky is the pilot’s breath after a difficult combat mission. Even in war, it is worth flying beautifully. After hitting the targets, the feelings are incredible, but they last only a moment. The flight continues, and you are fully focused on the next tasks,” Sava said.

The Air Force recalled that, in May this year, it had already released footage of another MiG-29 pilot in action during the defence against a massive Russian air attack.
