Using an upgraded version equipped with a thermal imaging camera and manual control, the drones completely destroyed the Pantsir-S1 system and disabled several radars essential to Russian aerial surveillance. One of the drones managed to penetrate the Saky military airbase, striking near a Su-30 fighter jet and possibly damaging the aircraft.

The Saky airbase, located on the Crimean Peninsula, is a key strategic point for Russian aviation, housing the 43rd Fighter Aviation Regiment and operating Su-30SM fighters and Su-24 bombers that participate in attacks against Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, this base has been a constant target of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, especially during an attack in August 2022 that destroyed several aircraft and damaged local infrastructure.

In addition to the recent attacks, in 2024 the base was hit by ATACMS ballistic missiles, which struck ammunition depots, personnel, and Russian surveillance radars.
These attacks highlight Ukraine’s strategy to weaken Russian air power in Crimea through precise strikes against its main military installations.
