A Ukrainian drone managed to intercept a group of Russian soldiers moving along the Dnipro River using jet skis. The video of the action was published by Serhiy Sternenko and quickly spread across social media.

The operation was carried out using 10-inch Shuriken 10 FPV drones. The first drone flew directly into the back of one of the jet ski passengers, exploding the vehicle and its occupants. Shortly afterward, a second drone was sent to eliminate the surviving occupant with a remote detonation.

Despite the Russian jet skis being equipped with electronic warfare systems — visible from the antennas located on the bow of the vehicle — these systems were ineffective in preventing the Ukrainian drones’ actions.

The use of jet skis by Russian forces is not new. In May of this year, the first recorded instance of their use occurred during operations in the Dnipro delta when Ukrainian forces struck a jet ski attempting to deliver supplies to Krasnikovsky Island.

Jet skis are used by the Russians similarly to motorcycles, offering greater speed and maneuverability along the river, reducing the time spent in open and exposed areas.

Currently, moving along the Dnipro River and its tributaries is extremely dangerous due to constant monitoring by reconnaissance drones, the presence of attack drones, and river mines. To mitigate these risks, Russian forces have been seeking alternatives, such as using large agricultural drones to transport supplies and ammunition.

Some of these drones can carry up to 40 kilograms over a distance of 15 kilometers, but their use remains limited. Known examples are adaptations of civilian agricultural drones of Chinese and Russian origin.
