Special units of Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) carried out another high-impact operation in occupied Crimea.
On the night of December 4, 2025, a Ukrainian kamikaze drone struck and destroyed a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet parked at the Kacha military airfield near Sevastopol.
According to the GUR press service, the action was conducted by the special subunit “Primari,” responsible for multiple strategic sabotage operations against Russian military targets in occupied territory.

In addition to the destruction of the MiG-29, the same-night attack also neutralized the “Irtysh” airfield radar complex located near Simferopol. The system, essential for Russian air control and air defense, was completely disabled.
According to the GUR, the operations are part of a continuous campaign to weaken Russian air defenses on the peninsula by targeting radars, air-defense systems and, now, combat aircraft based in Crimea.
The “Primari” unit had already gained notoriety on September 21, 2025, when it destroyed for the first time two rare Russian Be-12 “Chayka” amphibious aircraft, also in Crimea.
Newly released footage shows the impact of the Ukrainian offensive, which continues to put pressure on Russian military infrastructure in the occupied region.
