The large landing ship Novocherkassk” (Новочеркаськ) was destroyed by air force pilots off the coast of Crimea, the air force stated on the social media platform Telegram.

According to the statement, the ship was carrying Iranian-made explosive drones Shaheds frequently used by Russia against Ukraine, it added.
The military did not specify the location of the attack, but the air force commander, Mykola Olechtchuk, broadcast a video showing an explosion and flames at the Russian naval base of Feodosia, located on the Black Sea coast in occupied Crimea.
The head of the “Republic of Crimea,” Sergei Aksionov, confirmed the occurrence of an attack in Feodosia.
Aksionov did not specify the nature of the damages but stressed that “residents of several houses” had to be “evacuated.”
Ukraine frequently conducts attacks in Crimea, particularly targeting Russian military facilities. In April 2022, it sunk the cruiser Moskva, a Russian ship from the Black Sea fleet.
