It’s important to note that the first photos of Anka III, also known as “Phoenix“, were released in March this year. Before this, the development of the device occurred under strict secrecy.
Anka III is a heavy reconnaissance and attack drone, and it significantly differs from other UAVs produced in Turkey, suggesting that the device was developed from scratch. The drone has a “flying wing” design and closely resembles the Russian “Hunter”.
According to the developer, Anka III will be capable of carrying Mark 83 bombs (likely in an internal compartment). Additionally, in previously published photos, four underwing pylons can be observed, where guided missiles can be attached.
As per statements from TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) representatives, the new UAV can reach an altitude of up to 13 km, speeds of up to 857 km/h, perform missile and bomb attacks, and provide support to manned combat aircraft. Moreover, thanks to stealth technology, the device will likely be able to penetrate enemy air defenses.
It is worth recalling that earlier, Turkey presented the landing ship TGC Anadolu, capable of carrying light and combat aircraft, including drones.
