The Toyota Prius is a very reliable car, but it also has a rather plain appearance. Fortunately, in the hands of a creative owner, that’s not really a problem.
On his Facebook page, content creator Mad Max C7 frequently showcases his creation: an extremely modified Toyota Prius that looks like it came straight out of the Mad Max film franchise.
In the clip, you can see a raw cylindrical pulse jet bolted to the roof, while the front end features what appears to be a steel battering ram, extending forward to give the vehicle a very menacing look.
At the back, the rear wheels are oversized and pushed far beyond the body on stacked spacers, giving the Prius a wide stance that makes it look like a giant version of a Hot Wheels toy car.
The modifications are so extreme that at first glance, you might not even recognize that this was once a Prius. “The Prius is a strategic addition to the anti-acquisition special unit. And yes, that’s a homemade pulse jet on top for extra thrust,” the creator said in the video.
The clip has already amassed over 9 million views, more than 160,000 likes, and thousands of comments from users equally amazed and horrified by the scene. “Just went from 55 miles per gallon to 55 gallons per mile,” joked one Facebook user.
“Bold of you to assume those spacers will last long enough to make a turn,” noted another. “The Twisted Metal game in real life,” commented a third user. “[It can drive] anywhere except over a speed bump,” teased yet another.
