The L-29 Delfín is a military jet trainer that was manufactured in Czechoslovakia by Aero Vodochody. It was the first fully jet-built trainer in Czechoslovakia and Aero’s first turbojet trainer. The L-29 was developed in the late 1950s and entered service with the Czechoslovak Air Force in 1961.
Besides being widely used by the Czechoslovak armed forces, the Delfín was also exported and used by various other countries, mainly Warsaw Pact nations and others aligned with the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
