The 2S34 Khosta is a Russian self-propelled artillery system, mounted on a tracked chassis, with a 120 mm caliber. This system is a deep modernization of the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, incorporating components from the 2S31 Vena, 2S23 Nona-SVK, and Object 118 (GMZ).

Designed to suppress infantry forces, artillery and mortar batteries, rocket launchers, armored targets, firing positions, and command points at a distance of up to 14 km, the 2S34 was produced specifically for the Russian army between 2003 and 2008. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation possess about 40 units of this model, with two experimental variants: 2S34-1 and 2S34M.

The 2S34-1 is a prototype that replaces the 122 mm 2A31 howitzer with a 120 mm 2A80-1 semi-automatic gun-howitzer-mortar, as well as a new commander’s cupola with an installed PKT, a modified combat compartment, and a set of 1V180-1 onboard equipment, similar to the 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV.

The 2S34M is an experimental modification of the 2S34, equipped with a weapons computing system and sensors.
