The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to attack Russian air defenses in eastern Ukraine and Crimea. An attack earlier this week was carried out near the Mospyne Military Airfield in the Donetsk Region, using MGM-140 ATACMS missiles equipped with cluster warheads.

During the attack, at least two, possibly three, S-400 launchers were destroyed, along with a 96L6E “Cheese Board” acquisition radar and a 55K6E Command and Operations Center mounted on a truck.

At least six anti-aircraft missiles fired by the Russian S-400 air defense system were launched after detecting the American MGM-140A ATACMS Block 1 (M39) missiles. However, all the missiles missed their targets. Seconds later, the S-400 launch devices and the central radar system were destroyed.

This week’s incident highlights the vulnerability of Russian air defenses in the face of Ukrainian attacks with high-precision missiles.
