Two fishermen who had gone missing in the Sea of Okhotsk were found by rescue teams after an aerial operation carried out with a Mi-8 helicopter from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to authorities, the two men had gone out by boat in the Nikolay Bay area and did not return, prompting a search and rescue team to be deployed. A Mi-8 helicopter was sent to the location with rescuers on board to inspect the area.

During the operation, teams flew over more than 800 square kilometers of water and coastal areas of the Sea of Okhotsk. The fishermen were located on dry land, in an area surrounded by blocks of ice.

According to the men’s own account, they were caught by surprise by a storm while navigating. The boat began to fill with water and could have sunk, but the low tide eventually carried the vessel to the shore.

After being found, the fishermen were evacuated by personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and transported to Nikolay-na-Amur, where they received medical assistance from a healthcare team.
The rescue was recorded in a video released by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
