Gladius is one of the first loitering munition systems — also known as a “suicide drone” or “wandering munition” — adopted by the Polish Armed Forces. It integrates modern sensors and effectors into a single command system, enabling highly precise strikes against enemy concentrations and strategic infrastructure.
Developed with cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence, the system provides full situational awareness on the battlefield, offering troops significant improvements in effectiveness and response time. According to the General Staff, Gladius directly addresses lessons learned from the conflict in Ukraine and aligns with one of the top seven military development priorities of the country, known as the “Great Seven” — specifically the pillar of Dronization and Robotization.

This training phase marks another milestone in preparing troops for a new kind of warfare, where technology plays a central role.
