
Radom, Poland – A Polish Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed this Friday (29) during a rehearsal for the airshow scheduled for the weekend in Radom, in the central region of the country. The pilot did not survive the accident, a government spokesperson reported.

According to Polish media, the aircraft crashed around 5:30 PM GMT, hitting the airport runway itself and causing significant structural damage.
Government spokesperson Adam Szłapka confirmed the pilot’s death in a post on the social network X (formerly Twitter), but did not provide additional details about the circumstances of the crash.
As a result of the accident, organizers announced the official cancellation of the Radom Airshow, one of Poland’s largest aviation events, which would have featured military and civilian displays this weekend.
