Developed and built entirely in Pakistan, the Haider stands out as an example of the third generation of war tanks. It is based on the Chinese VT4 platform and comes equipped with a formidable arsenal. Its main weapon is a 125 mm Smoothbore cannon, capable of firing a variety of ammunition, including Armor Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot projectiles and guided anti-tank missiles.

In addition to the main weapon, the tank also has a robust secondary armament, which includes a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun and a remotely operated weapon station, equipped with a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun.

The Haider is equipped with a sophisticated fire control system, integrating a series of sensors and aiming devices to enhance accuracy and lethality in combat. Its electronically controlled turbo Diesel engine of 1,200 hp, coupled with a hydromechanical automatic transmission, gives the tank exceptional mobility, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 70 km/h on the road and a cruising range of 500 km.

This launch is an important milestone for Pakistan, demonstrating the country’s commitment to self-sufficiency in defense and the development of advanced military technologies. The Haider Main Battle Tank is set to become a key piece in Pakistan’s defensive strategy, promising a new level of military capability for the nation’s armed forces.
