The video in which a mechanic demonstrates a next-level hack to drive a truck without pedals is leaving internet users astonished.
The clip, posted by CarHax AI on Facebook, shows the dusty interior of what appears to be a heavy-duty work truck that is apparently missing its accelerator pedal.
Fortunately, the driver displayed impressive creativity by replacing the missing part with a locking pliers, leaving the mechanic completely stunned.
“I love being a heavy equipment mechanic. There’s nothing better than finishing a repair and seeing the accelerator replaced with locking pliers,” he wrote in the caption.
In the footage, he shows the pliers fixed onto the accelerator shaft where the pedal would normally be. The handles were positioned at the same angle as a regular pedal, allowing the driver to press and control the accelerator normally.
The post has already accumulated over 1.5 million views and more than 600 comments since it was shared on the platform on August 11. “The classic: ‘I’ll fix it later,’ and that’s how it stays forever,” joked one commenter.
“You can tell by the wear that it’s been there for a while and isn’t going anywhere soon,” noted another. “There’s no more permanent solution than a temporary one that works decently enough,” added a third internet user.
